In your Will In memory
By making an In Memory donation for a loved one, or leaving a gift in your Will, you can help us continue the work that we do to promote good society health and improve the lives in our community – now and in the future.
Donations in memory of someone
Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a way to remember someone special and help build a future for others. There are numerous ways that you can donate to us in memory of a loved one.
Through the Funeral Director
The Funeral Director will organize in memory donations for you. They will collect donations either at the funeral service or people will send them cheques later. They then pass the donations to us and we will write to you telling you how much has been raised in memory of your loved one.
Please ask for cheques to be made payable to Rasd al mashakel. If you are writing your Will and leaving instructions for your funeral, please consider asking your family and friends to make a donation to Rasd al mashakel.
Please make cheques payable to Rasd al mashakel and send to us at the address below along with your name and address so that we can write to thank you:
How to leave a gift in your Will
A gift in your Will, no matter how small, can make a lasting difference to someone.
It is always best to seek professional advice from a solicitor if you are writing or updating your will. This ensures your wishes will be carried out. If your Will is straightforward it is often much cheaper than you might think and most solicitors will give you a quote over the phone
If you have already made a Will, you can still leave a gift to Rasd al mashakel by adding a codicil to your existing Will. Again, we would recommend that you seek professional advice about this.
When leaving a legacy gift to us please give your solicitor the following information:
Charity name: Rasd al mashakel
Registered charity number: .....
Letting Rasd al mashakel know about your legacy gift
We understand that your Will is a private document. However, if you do leave us a legacy please consider letting us know about this as it helps our future planning. It also means we can express our thanks to you and discuss any wishes you may have about your legacy. We would treat any discussions confidentially.
Payroll giving at work
Payroll Giving is a way of giving money to charity without paying tax on it. It must be paid through PAYE from someone’s wages or pension.
Your employer needs to set up and run the scheme. The amount of tax relief you get depends on the rate of tax you pay.
Contact a Payroll Giving agency to set up a scheme.
Make deductions each time you run payroll. The donation will be taken from your employees’ pay before tax but after National Insurance.
Send the donations to your agency - they’ll pass them on to the chosen charities.
Ask your agency any questions you or your employees have about the scheme.
Costs of running a scheme
Agencies may charge an administration fee. They usually deduct this from employees’ donations before they pass them to the charity. You can choose to pay the fee, meaning the charities will get more money.
You can deduct any costs of running the scheme from your business profits before tax.
